Stiffeners are recommended to minimize sagging on Tops or Worksurfaces that have unsupported spans of 45" to 60", once installed. The maximum unsupported span should not exceed 60". Optimal stiffener placement is in the center, directly between the base plates (or other supports), however, it can be placed up to 6” off the center. If the stiffener must be placed further off center, it is recommended to install two stiffeners, placed parallel. If the Top or Worksurface is 36" or wider, two parallel stiffeners are recommended.
